What to look for when selecting a spectacle frame...

There is a lot to consider when selecting you next pair of frames.  Your glasses are often on your face all day and are one of the first things people notice when they look at you.  They are a fashion accessory, but are also a functional solution for vision correction.  A lot of people express their personality and style through their eyewear and their clothing.

When choosing frames make sure you think about your lifestyle.  What do you do for work?  What do you do outside of work or for leisure?  What jewellery/accessories do you like to wear?  What style of clothes do you wear?  Do you need UV protection?

Sometimes one pair of eyewear will not fulfill all of your visual needs.  Do your needs differ from day to night?  From work to leisure?  Would you like a subtle pair as well as a statement pair?  A classic and colourful pair?  A durable pair for a particular job or hobby?  A comfortable pair for lazy weekends?

So what vision correction do I use?  My lifestyle definitely does not allow me to have just one pair of glasses.  As an optometrist, I wear office/professional wear to work, but have quite casual weekends with my family and friends.  I have 2 pairs of clear glasses: one in a bold darker frame and one in a more subtle frame.  I have prescription sunglasses as I don’t mind carrying a separate pair of sunglasses in my bag and transitions are not dark enough for me in the car.  I am quite glare sensitive so my prescription polarized Maui Jim sunglasses are a must have for me.  I also wear contact lenses and have non-prescription polarized sunglasses for over the top of my contacts.

No matter what your look and lifestyle is, we can help you find the perfect eyewear to suit your personality, lifestyle and wardrobe.  We are committed to providing quality products to our patients at a competitive price.
